All Stars Cricket

2017 was the first year that the English & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) started promoting their great new idea for youngsters between the ages of 4 - 8 they were hoping to bring cricket to more youngsters after finding out that most children of this age did not really know much about the game of cricket.

When the idea of "All Stars Cricket" was fully put out the clubs of Britain, the ECB had developed the idea to where youngsters of this age could join cricket clubs around Britain and start to learn the basics of cricket by being shown the basics of the game but by using fun rather than being asked to just jump in and start to play a game some of them did not even understand, this then brought the parents of the children into it, as all parents were asked to help the individual clubs out by helping show the youngsters what to, how to catch, throw the ball.

2018 will see a return of the "All Stars Cricket" to our club along with 1500 other clubs around Britain. Click on the link to the left of the page to see more what is on offer with "All Stars Cricket"

Our junior cricket section has been running for quite a while, many of our juniors have progressed from U11's through the junior ranks up to our current 1st XI squad. This is something we at Bagborough CC are very proud of, especially our current Chairman who for most of that time has been heavily involved in their training, he is well known around Somerset for his devotion to junior cricket.

We want to make sure that every young child, irrespective of ability, has an enjoyable cricketing experience at Bagborough, as such, their enjoyment of the game, is paramount. We believe that if they do not enjoy themselves, they will not reach their own playing potential.

Any or all of our newest members, can be asked to play in their age group from the moment that they join Bagborough CC, all are invited to attend training at Bagborough, which is held every Tuesday, dependent on the weather, throughout the Juniors season (April-August) where we hope to develop their cricketing skills.

Many of our parents attend these sessions and some even assist in the coaching, which for us is a real benefit and help! So don't forget to volunteer!

Ultimately, we hope that you enjoy cricket at Bagborough CC, that you feel at home in the Club, and that you can go on and play in the men's senior cricket teams. I hope that by navigating the pages of the junior section of the website you will find all you need to know about applying to join the junior section.
